Happy New Year! Back to school on Monday! Students report to Advisement first thing in the morning to pick up 2nd semester schedules. We also welcome our student intern, Mr. Yates, from UWG tomorrow. He will be with us all semester and we are very excited! Don’t forget your instruments! We are getting right to new music tomorrow!! Go Braves!!

USBands Southeastern States Championships at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama
The Marching Braves competed against schools from Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas. The band had a great performance in Group III Open Class. The final awards are:

Best Color Guard
Best Percussion
1st Place Band

Old Southeastern Band Contest at Newnan HS
Superior Drum Major, Superior Color Guard, Superior Percussion, and Superior Overall Band. Color Guard and Drum Major both received second place in Class A. Percussion won Best in Class A for the 4th year in a row! The Marching Braves won Best in Class Overall Band for the third week in a row! They also scored second in Percussion and Overall Band for Silver Division (A and AA). Next stop is the USBands Southeastern States Championships in Huntsville, Alabama. Way to Go Braves!
